About Autoportante Company

     Italian-Argentine circus company formed by the tightwire walkers Emma Edvige Ungaro and Damian Elencwajg in 2013 in Turin after graduating from the Cirko Vertigo School. That same year they started the tour with their first show "Fuori al naturale", participating to this day in festivals, events and TV shows in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

       In 2019 they start an international cooperation project directing and participating in workshops and creation of various shows with "Collective Moves", a group of multidisciplinary artists performing shows in Sweden, England, Finland, Austria, Germany and Hungary until 2023.

      In 2020, the Company starts the creation of the show "RubeN", directed by Antonio Vergamini. At the same time, during the second half of 2021, they participate in the creation of "Circumsdances", a new show made for the city of Lübeck in Germany with two other high level tightrope walkers. In 2023 they premiered their show "The Great Pretender" and spent 2024 to finalise preparations for the premiere of "RubeN".

      With almost 20 years of experience in the ludic-recreational field, in theater and circus, since 2014 they perform specific workshops and seminars of tight wire for professionals of the sector and amateurs, incorporating in 2020 courses with online modality. They have collaborated in projects with schools, associations for the integration of refugees, children in vulnerable situations and people with Down syndrome, both in Italy and abroad.

     The company also produces specific thematic numbers at the client's request, for large events, varietés and theaters.

Emma Edvige Ungaro

     Federal instructor of rhythmic gymnastics, pizzica dancer and circus artist specialized in tightwire, she has been working in the show bussines since 2001 as performer, physical theater actress and dancer.

     Student of Architecture and Building Engineering, towards the end of her university studies she decides to give more importance to her dreams of her childhood, leaves everything and embarks on the academic career of contemporary circus artist, graduating in 2012 at the Cirko Vertigo school in Turin. She has participated in tightwire workshops with Sanja Konsonen, Nathalie Good, Lucas Bergandi and Ernesto Terri.

     He teached at the Cirko Vertigo school and participated in the high specialization pilot project with the wire master Arian Miluka.

In 2013 she founded the Compagnia Autoprtante with Damián Elencwajg.

Damián Elencwajg

     Raised in a middle-class family in Buenos Aires, he started a circus school by accident, while continuing his university studies. Graduated both as a political scientist and circus artist, he decides to give priority to artistic activity devoting himself exclusively to circus training and work, starting in 2012 a trip of discovery and research in Europe.

     He was fortunate to be able to train with some of the best wire teachers from Argentina and Europe, such as Ernesto Terri and Isabelle Brisset.

     In 2012 he started the Cirko Vertigo School in Turin studying with Arian Miluka and participating in workshops with Lucas Bergandi. During these years he meets Emma Edvige Ungaro with whom he will form the Autoportante Company.
